FX Loop intermittent

In my amps the FX loop is always in the signal path even if nothing is plugged into the send and return jacks.

If your signal does not cut in and out or sound erratic without the loop then the loop circuit is functioning properly.

Plug a GOOD guitar cable (not the same one that you were using in the loop ) from the send to the return jacks. Is the sound OK?

1. Yes everything is OK when I jump the send to the return

1. No now the signal cuts out or sounds erratic when I jump the send to the return
