I recently aquired an univibe at an flea market and I am trying to figure out how to get it up and running. I have visited other sites and can find schematics with ease. But I need some info thats not on the schematic.
What type of switch is used on the front panel, (I have a toggle switch looks like an trek auto product) and what modern equivalent can I use in its place?
Same question with the on/off light (what kind of bulb does it take, replacement light housing)?
The small light bulb that surrounds the 4 light cells what size is that? Is that supposed to come on once I turn on the juice?
Last it was missing the foot controller/cord. I found out that this is required for the unit to work the hard way. I know the plug is the same as the footswitch on my Mesa/Boogie, but is there a way to fool the circuit so I can see if it is operating at all? Does anyone have a foot controller and cord for sale or the schematic for one.
thanks for any help you can give me

Nice find! Any SPDT rocker switch will work for the Chorus - Vibrato selector (2 position with 3 terminals on it), the power switch is an SPST toggle swtich (2 position, 2 terminals). The light is a #1826, 24v (try Radio Shack). The small light will not come on without the footpedal.
The footpedal is absolutely necessary for the circuit to operate. The electronics of the footpedal are included in the main Univibe schematic. Follow the schematic and add the components that are not on the main board (oscillator speed control and effect bypass switch).
This takes a medium level of skill. If you do not understand these instructions then I would suggest sending it to me to be repaired and to add the missing components, do not bring it to a tech that has never worked on one of these or it will be ruined!
Once modified all controls will be on the main unit and you will no longer need the footpedal. All additions are completely reversable and no holes are drilled in the unit. If, one day you find the footpedal, everything can be retuned to stock.
This is also a practicle solution for any univibe owner who is tired of carting the footpedal around.

Rick,
Thanks for the information and insight on the univibe.
I'm in the process of hunting down an foot controller right now.
Thanks again for the quick reply.
